Leisure
Time
The nearness of the sea (5km) and the Aurelia state road (2.6
km), together with the many enjoyable sights in the vicinity, make
it the ideal place for weekends all the year round. Starting from
the WWF-protected dunes, with the marvellous, 10km beach which extends
from Chiarone to Ansedonia, and from the fascinating work of Niki
de Saint Phalle in the famous 'Tarots Park', there are many excursions
to be made in the area, from islands to oases and natural parks,
from lakes to towns of art, from the Etruscan necropolis to the
spa baths. Those who are inclined towards sport can enjoy horse
riding (there are 2 stables nearby) and bicycle rides (bicycles
are available for rent at the farm-house), and those who seek rest
can simply relax under one of the centuries-old olive trees. The
tavern, 'Il Tortello', is only 100m away, and offers pleasant evenings
for those who don't want to take advantage of the accommodation's
kitchens, wood oven or barbecues.
Finally, the attention to detail, the large and varied garden terrain
extending up to the Mediterranean maquis on the hillside, and the
children's play area, all make 'Il Fontino' an immensely enjoyable
place for holidays, and in all respects a very competitive one in
the much-visited Capalbio area.

Leisure
Time
The wonderfully attractive swimming
pool, which is situated in a very panoramic area, appears like a
window that looks out onto the green underlying valley and hills
that surround it.
During the summer week-ends,
you can spend pleasant outdoor, candelit evenings, near our wine
cellar. Cold dishes prepared with our own grown products are available
along with our own wines. The wine cellar and the adjacent wine
tasting bar are two attractive areas that are nicely and comfortably
furnished to allow one to taste and appreciate our products with
tranquillity.
The Wine cellar, the "Tinaia" (fermenting room), and the
"Orciaia" (conservation room), is where our wines and
olive oil are produced and conserved, that still use traditional
methods that date back over a century.
Particularly interesting is
the visit and over night stay in our farmhouse during the autumn
season, during which time the guests can observe and, if they wish,
can actively participate in the phases of production of the wine
olive oil and "vinsanto".
Regarding visits to surrounding
places, the choices are many. The area is in a very strategic position
to allow one to visit many cities famous for their art. For example,
Florence is an obvious choice. Pisa's Leaning Tower is now open
to the public. Siena, the city of the "Palio" (traditional
horse riding competitions) has been quoted as being where the "best
possible Italian" is spoken; Prato is where Romanesque, Gothic,
and Renaissance influences are met with artists of the caliber of
Donatello, Giuliano from Sangallo and many others; the medieval
atmosphere of S.Miniato is reminiscent of emperors Enrico IV, Redbeard,
and Fred II and the unsettled spirit of Pier of the Vineyards.
If one then wishes to travel
a bit further to the sea, Livorno is where you can enjoy the whole
neighbouring coast from Viareggio to the north to Castiglioncello
to the south.
In short, there really won't
be time for boredom!
